Another year has come to an end and I must say 2014 was a pretty good one for me, both personally and professionally. I got to travel some more and do more of the things I love. My freelance jobs brought me to places like Barcelona for the Sonar music festival, Lisbon, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I released two EPs called Rework Vol 1 and 2 and mixed/mastered the next release by Rust & Dust on the swedish house label HMWL.
I continued to write articles and reviews for magazines like MacWorld and Studio. Another mag was added to the list this year – PC för alla, the biggest computer magazine in Sweden.
The studio got some new professional equipment, like the Adam A7X monitors and a modular synth. As usual I’m working on new music, but you will have to wait and see which of the tracks that will actually be finished and released…
Happy new year! Let’s make 2015 an even better year!!
Last weekend I went to Dubai for work. Fortunately we found some time to visit the Grand Prix finals in Abu Dhabi as well. Here’s a picture of Jerry Wiener and me in the Yas Marina.
The release date on the major streaming sites has been set for tomorrow friday but I decided to do a sneak release on Soundcloud. So here they are. Rework Vol 1 and 2. Both EPs are made up of previously unreleased tracks from around 1999 to 2003. At the time I wanted to do a third full length album but I somehow never really got around to finish enough good tracks. A while ago I decided to remaster and reproduce some of them, and the result are these two EPs. Enjoy!
Among many things I’m also a freelance writer for the swedish magazines Studio, MacWorld and PC för alla. This summer I went to the Sonar festival in Barcelona. Check out my article about the tech I tried out there, at the Sonar D+ Marketlab. Article is in Swedish.
Here’s what the studio looks like at the moment. I have installed my new Adam A7X monitors and switched around the stuff in the rack. Now there should be room for some euro modules as well.
Last year the demo No Sleep 2 (1987) by my old C64 group XAKK was chosen to be part of the exhibition Typemotion at ZKM at the Center for art and media in Karlsruhe Germany.
If you missed the exhibition you can catch it again and again since it’s a travelling exhibition. Next up will be in Vilnius, Lithuania and the National gallery of art, the branch of the Lithuanian art museum, between Oct 10 and Nov 9, 2014.
I did a demo of some of the possibilities using sample & hold on the System-100. This is a bit different from the usual stuff I do nowadays but here you go..
Here is my first bootleg remix of the summer. My Deep House summer version of Bibio – Down to the sound. Listen and download before Soundcloud takes it down.
