Spotify’s automatic end of the year list with my top 100 played tunes in 2018 is a selection of mostly newly released electronic dance music.
There is a lot of great new tunes in here. Innovative chilled beats but also some techno bangers and pure ambient. Check it out if you like the style of my own music and perhaps are interested in what kind of music I listen to for inspiration.
I put in around 100 hours playing Assassins Creed Origins and its two DLCs.
It’s such a beautiful, well written game and the world building is top notch. It almost feels like you are there in ancient Egypt, with all the people going about their daily business.
Another thing I really liked was the ability to take screen-shots or in-game photography as some call it. Here are some of the better ones. You can download them and use as background for your desktop if you like.
I just uploaded my album Focus to Choon. What is Choon? In their own words: “Choon is a music streaming service and digital payments ecosystem—designed to solve the music industry’s most fundamental problems. Choon allows artists to earn cryptocurrency for every stream of their tracks.”
Here is another of my latest modded old Game Boys. This one is sprayed in real aluminium and black. It has a white backlight biverted screen, ProSound and all the usual mods for making music. Link to external gallery.

It has ten mods:
– New blue shell
– White backlight screen.
– Bivert chip, for improved contrast and less ghosting.
– Brand new plastic screen lens.
– ProSound mod to the original headphone jack.
– Bass Boost mod for more sub bass.
– A second Bass mod that increases audible bass sounds.
– 1000 uF decoupling capacitor for less noise.
– New green buttons
– New green silicon parts
Here is a little cheeky remix/edit of the 1979 disco tune Laserdance by Sponooch. I call this the Laserdisc Junkies Edit. Enjoy this proto italo/space disco tune.
Lots of things have happened in my studio the last couple of years. I built a TTSH (Arp 2600 clone) and I also got, perhaps a bit carried away with the whole modular thing. :) Anyways, this is what it looks like now. Many of the hardware you see here was used to make my latest album Focus.

I’m having another round of Game Boy mania at the moment.
Been refurbishing and modding the old original and Play-it-loud models. This one turned out pretty nice don’t you think? It’s specifically modded to be used for making music/noises with programs like LSDJ and Nanoloop.
I just recorded another video of me tweaking the old Roland System-100. I got this idea a while back to try to do some sort of live performance, with drums or drum like sounds, live on the Roland System-100. Everything was recorded live in one take. All sounds come from the System-100 run through the Strymon El Capistan Tape Echo effect box. Not something I would include on my next album but still fun to try new ways to push this old baby to the limit.
